VERSE OF THE DAY:
As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. -- Psalm 103:1

Inaugural Celebration a Huge Success!

The Inauguration Celebration for President Delbert Scott was a huge success as KCCBS supporters, alumni, and friends gathered for this momentous occasion.  The day began with a breakfast honoring the KCCBS faculty and staff.  It was also a time in which the faculty showed their appreciation to President Scott by presenting him with a gift and unveiling his newly framed picture that will now hang in the Library on the "Presidents Wall."  The second event of the day featured an appreciation luncheon for ministry leaders.  At the lunch ministry leaders were challenged to join KCCBS in reaching a generation that is desperately in need of biblical education and spiritual formation.  The leaders were reminded that KCCBS wants to play a vital role in helping churches reach this generation.

The Inauguration Ceremony was well attended with over 300 in attendance to celebrate the installation of Delbert Scott as the eleventh president of KCCBS.  Nearly all of the former presidents were either in attendance or represented by family in attendance.  Special music was provided by individuals representing various groups of people who are vital to the success of Kansas City College and Bible School.  President Scott shared his vision in his inaugural address and was shown a sign of support by a standing ovation following the address.

The events of the day culminated with the Inauguration Dinner at the Embassy Suites on the Plaza.  With 185 people in attendance, it was fantastic way to finish the celebration.  Each participant enjoyed a delicious dinner, was entertained by gospel music, and was challenged by President Scott to faithfully support KCCBS in the days ahead.

Stay tuned to the Alumni website for further news relating to the Inauguration!  We should have some pictures to post from the weekend soon!

Over $18,500 raised at the Alumni Chili Supper and Auction

The KCCBS and OCH Alumni Association Chili Supper and Auction was a huge success this year, bringing in over $18,500 to benefit the Salary Endowment Fund which provides Christmas bonuses to KCCBS full-time salaried employees.  The 200+ items were auctioned in about 3 hours and the money raised that evening shattered the previous high of $7200!  Special thanks to all who attended the dinner and placed bids in the auction!  If you missed out this year, be sure to attend the Chili Supper and Auction in 2011!
